Material Options

The choice of metal for your engagement ring is an important decision to make. Each metal offers its own unique qualities and aesthetic appeal. We’ve custom designed rings in a range of precious metals like 14K, 18K, 24K gold and platinum. Let’s take a look at the metal types for your rings:

Platinum is a durable and hypoallergenic metal that is known for its durability, toughness and lustre. Platinum is hypoallergenic and resistant to tarnish, platinum are an excellent choice for those who desire a ring that will withstand the test of time.

Gold from Yellow gold, White gold, and Rose gold are the most common choices for wedding rings and bands. We usually recommend choosing 14K or 18K gold. The difference comes down to the amount of gold mixed with other alloys in casting the ring, but either of these hold up well for daily wear.

We always say it’s more important to choose the rings that you love and will enjoy wearing every day. Mixing colour metals in your rings is totally on trend and we’re here for it. Ultimately, the choice of metal depends on your personal style, skin tone, budget, and lifestyle. For a more personalized look that enhances the stone and overall design, allows for creative design expressions. Consider factors such as durability, maintenance, and compatibility with your daily activities when making your decision.

FAQ

Before you begin looking for an engagement ring, we do recommend you start thinking about your budget. Having an idea of your budget means we can prepare everything to show you, from diamonds, gemstones to designs, to sit within this range.

Gather an understanding of what you’re looking for in this special ring design. Starting with, what kind of jewellery design does your partner already wear? Are there any coloured gemstones they love, or do you know they want a diamond? Often the jewellery they already own and wear can be your best helping hand.

If you can’t find something that catch your eye or they don’t wear a lot of jewellery, think of the words that you would use to describe your partner’s style, and we can help you decide what would suit them.

Still uncertain? Explore the classic setting design, it could be the perfect solution!

We work with 14K, 18K, 24K Rose Gold, Yellow Gold, White Gold and Platinum. There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to selecting a precious metal for your engagement ring, it’s about choosing an option that suits you best.

Rose Gold & Yellow Gold-

Pure yellow gold is the softest of the precious metal family. For this reason, it must have other alloys added to it to give it the strength and durability required when crafting jewellery. Rose gold will have more copper alloys added to it than 18k yellow gold, to give it a warm colouring. We craft our engagement rings and bespoke designs in 18k gold to provide the richest yellow gold colour while ensuring the durability and strength of your piece.

White Gold–

White gold begins as yellow gold before alloys are added to give it its white colour. Once the piece is crafted, white gold jewellery is then rhodium plated to give it a pure white colouring, a worldwide standard process when working with white gold. The rhodium plating does wear off over time and after 1 to 1.5 years, the metal will become a slightly warmer tone. We recommend replating white gold every few years to ensure it is always fresh and bright like brand new ring condition.

Platinum-

Platinum is a white-coloured metal and while it looks like white gold, but it is from a different precious metal family. Platinum is a dense metal, making it slightly harder, more durable and hypoallergenic than 18K gold blends (rose, yellow and white). As it is naturally white in colour, it does not require any plating to keep it looking fresh and white, making it a affordable maintenance option than 14K or 18k white gold. This means that it does not have the ongoing replating cost like white gold.

We’ll begin by having an ongoing conversation, sketching ideas around the design direction, and once you are happy, it will be translated into a refined 3D rendering artwork. We are here to take all your ideas and help you refine them to create a timeless work of art.

With a final design that you love with approval, your ring will be custom made in our workshop by the hands of our master craftsmen. We ensure that it is crafted to perfection, and this whole process usually takes around 8-10 weeks.

With the final piece complete, we will be in touch for your collection, you are about to start planning the next phase, your proposal!
